Couple Indicted for Murder in Normandy Village

Normandy: a couple indicted after the assassination of the man's ex-lover

Discovery of Victim's Body

On April 19, emergency services discovered the body of a 44-year-old man in Émanville, Normandy. The victim, found at his grandfather's residence, exhibited signs of a violent attack, including wounds from a bladed weapon and strangulation marks.

Investigation and Arrests

Following the discovery, investigators learned from the victim's relatives that he had recently reconnected with an ex-boyfriend. A 34-year-old man quickly became a suspect when his phone was traced to the victim's home on the night of the murder. His 38-year-old partner was also implicated, and both were arrested after the victim's phone and bank card were found in their possession.

Details from the Interrogation

During questioning, the female suspect revealed a recent breakup with the male suspect over his "ambiguous relationships" with the victim. She admitted to sending him to confront the victim but denied any intent to incite violence. The male suspect confessed to the killing, claiming it occurred during a fight initiated by the victim's sexual advances, and asserted self-defense.

Charges and Detention

Both suspects were indicted, the man for murder and the woman for complicity. They have been placed in pre-trial detention as the investigation continues.
